Stomach Venus

It's that time again.  Another illustration reveal from my illustration class.  This one seems perfect for the Halloween season.

Stomach Venus
This illustration represents a story of a family who had a very intense history for stomach cancer.  The family was informed that a gene was responsible for the cancer and those in the family who were found with the gene opted to have their stomachs removed.

I am pretty please with the outcome, elegant and creepy.  What a lovely mix.

Ikat Lake

Over the summer I was able to sneak away and do some oil painting. I just added this one, my favorite, to the Etsy shop.  I was finally able to scan it, since I took advantage of the big scanner at my school.  And now I am able to share with you.  It was so nice to have a little time to paint in the garden....especially with a glass of wine.  What a great summer activity. I am looking forward to more of that next year.

I am especially happy with this painting, so happy in fact that I am keeping for my bedroom.  I love that it is so multi dimensional.  I really can get lost in it.  Although I am keeping the original,  I am  selling prints of this bad boy.  So if you love it like me, please buy a print.  The proceeds go to funding  more wine induced works of art in my garden!

Turtle Eclipse Beach

Turtle Eclipse Beach
I just had to share this latest finished piece of art from my illustration class.  The art is based on a story provided about a picnic which turned serendipidous with all kinds of natural events.
The author told of turtles climbing out of the ocean to lay eggs, while a solar eclipse occured.  During which, a comet streaked across the sky.

All three events make a very special and honored experience to have, I think.

More Lunch Bag Love

Well it has been a blur of school filled weeks in our home.  We have been busy with homework, baseball and lots of kinder bugs.  But this has not stopped the lunch bag fairy {aka me} from performing miracles.  And by that I mean only 2 days of hot lunch so far.  Hooray.  Pat on the back to mom for providing healthy lunches to super kids!

As promised, lots of lunch time fun has been provided.
