I don't know about your house, but in our home, half of the morning scramble is getting these kids out of bed.
Nobody likes the morning in our home, especially the daddy, so I can't be too hard on our little lazies, but I do need all the help I can get.
A few years ago, as an incentive for my son to rise and shine, I offered some pretty cool custom lunch bags in exchange for a no whining wake up. Turns out, it works. So this year, the tradition is continuing. Only this year, I have another bag a day to customize. Yikes, that's a lot of performance pressure for me. But if they love it, why not?
I am happy to do it while they will still let me. I'm afraid that bringing a hand drawn lunch bag, by the mom, might get super dorky around the time that they are terrified of being seen in public with me. So, let's keep the magic of being a kid alive along as we can, right?
Anyway, it is a win-win for me. The kids love the custom bags and I get to practice my drawing skills. (Speaking of, I was lunch bag art rusty...what have I been doing all summer?)
Check out the bags from this morning...
Here are a few more from the past few years. I know the pictures aren't the best, but you can enjoy the show still...right? Keep in mind they have all been for a super awesome boy...girly-ness did not explode onto the lunch bag art scene until this year.
On that note, are they trying to rock our world by having the kindergarteners eat lunch at school? I mean, really. That seems like a little too much pressure for us moms, right. I know my daughter loves feeling big...but I do like a transitional year to adjust. Ok, let's be honest, I was looking forward to our lunch dates for another year. Silly mom, lunch at home is for babies!
We'll keep sharing, because lunch bag art is about to get intense at our house!!! Happy thursday.
